Old Alabama Pottery Apothecary Jar Item sold Old Alabama Pottery Apothecary Jar. Circa 1860. good condition but has two small surface areas were rocks popped out during firing. There are also two short fine hairlines. Beveled based and wiped bottom. 8 inches tall. Potters who learned the art of making alkaline glazed pottery in Edgefield and Georgia moved west into Alabama looking for new markets and opportunities.
